The Centre for Human Rights, Multiculturalism and Migration (CHRM2) University of Jember, together with Asia Justice and Rights (AJAR) and Indonesian Consortium for Human Rights Lecturers (SEPAHAM) Indonesia organized an online course on transitional justice for the duration of two months, starting from 30 June to 13 August 2020. The committee selected 100 participants from across Indonesia, representing gender equality, demography, and state and non-state institutions.
During the course, all participants learned how to resolve gross human rights violation using legal and comparative perspectives. Additionally, challenges and opportunities to work on transitional justice are also discussed during the course.
Some facilitators invited to share their knowledges such as Herlambang P. Wiratraman (Airlangga University), Eko Riyadi (Islamic University of Yogyakarta), Ifdhal Kasim (President Secretariat Office), Indria Fernida (AJAR), and Hugo M. Fernandez (Centro National Chega, East Timor) Putri Kanesia (KontraS) and others.
In the closing session, some participants give their positive responses on the online course and most of them hope there will be more opportunities for them to learn more about transitional justice.
