On Monday, December 23, 2024, the Centre for Human Rights, Multiculturalism, and Migration (CHRM2) celebrated the relocation of its office from the CDAST building to its new premises in the C-RiSSH building. The inauguration event took place on the 4th floor of the new office, marking a significant milestone for the Centre since it established in 2017.
The gathering was attended by faculty, researchers, and students from the Faculties of Law, Social and Political Science, and Economics and Business at the University of Jember (UNEJ). Attendees enjoyed a delightful celebration lunch that featured nasi mandhi, chicken satay, goat satay, and a variety of fresh fruits.
The celebration not only symbolized a fresh start in a new space, but also fostered appreciation among the research community as they embark on a new chapter in a collaborative and inspiring environment. Dr. Al Khanif, director of CHRM2, envisions that the expansion of the space will further facilitate the Centre’s interdisciplinary research on human rights, journal publications, visiting fellowship for international scholars, and deepen engagements with academic communities at UNEJ and across Indonesia on human rights advocacy.
