Fellowship on Freedom of Religions and Beliefs

Two CHRM2 researchers are joining the Fellowship on Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB,
organized by the Center for Religious and Cross-Cultural Studies (CRCS) University of Gadjah
Mada.

The first researcher is Dina Tsalist Wildana. She was selected as a fellow for the Fellowship
on Freedom of Religion or Belief at CRCS. Another researcher is Al Khanif, the director of
the CHRM2 who will be in charge to supervise fellows to publish their research papers.
Together with 13 other participants from various universities across Indonesia, Dina has
an invaluable opportunity to receive knowledge on the foundation of FoRB and more
importantly research grant on FoRB. She will undertake research on the models of crimes
on freedom of religion or belief in Indonesia.

The fellowship starts with two days International Conference on Indigenous Religions,
followed by two days of formal classes on FoRB at CRCS. Additionally, the fellowship also
provide a platform for sharing experiences from all fellows. These programs are held for a
week from 1 to 6 July at University Club Hotel, University of Gadjah Mada Yogyakarta.
In this fellowship, CHRM2 is going to handle the finalization of research papers from all
fellows including copy editing and publication of the papers. All fellows will have three
months to undertake field/desk researches and submit their research papers to CHRM2 by
the end of September 2019.

CHRM2 will then select 8 best papers to be presented in the 4th International Conference on
Human Rights in Southeast Asia at the University of Jember on 13 – 15 October 2019.
