Ines Pinston – CHRM2

CHRM2

Ines Pinston (Research Fellow) is a French Master’s student in International Relations and Diplomacy at Lyon III University, specialising in gender, human rights, and Asia-Pacific politics. I completed a third-year exchange at the University of Sydney, where I conducted research on transgender rights in Japan through queer theory and feminist frameworks, and my recent work includes an analysis of South Korea’s 2024 martial law crisis and a peer-reviewed article on political violence. I also volunteer with intercultural exchange programmes in Lyon, supporting the integration of international students, and I will be joining CHRM2 as a Fellow in July 2026 with a particular interest in minority rights and migrant integration in Southeast Asia. Outside of academia, I enjoy hiking, freediving to explore the ocean, horror and early 2000s films, and pop and electronic music.
