CHRM2

Fiona Hoggart, a general consulate of Australia for East Java visited the Centre for Human Rights, Multiculturalism, and Migration (CHRM2) Tuesday 8 November 2022. Fiona visits the centre as part of her three days of working mission in Jember and Bondowoso starting from Sunday 6 November. CHRM2 also invited some local civil society organisations such as Jentera, Aisyah of Muhammadiyah, Fatayat of Nahdlatul Ulama, and Migrant Care of Jember. All participants of the forum explained and shared their activities and experiences with Fiona who enthusiastically listened to them. Gender Studies of the University of Jember also attended the forum.

The Centre tried to maximize the 90 minutes forum by explaining the previous and current collaborative activities with the Sydney Southeast Asia Centre in hosting the annual human rights conference. The Centre also explained the forthcoming activities such as the establishment of Collaborative Research Centre on Indigenous Rights and the 6th Human Rights Conference. Fiona asserted that the Consulate is interested to participate in the conference and hope there are more fruitful collaboration in the future between the Consulate and the Centre.

The session ended up with the lunch and photo session.
